Along with scientific and cultural advances, the design has evolved. The design has evolved from an initial focus on craftsmanship to today’s people-oriented way of thinking. Generations develop and inherit design through the change of design education mode.
Traditional design and design thinking
Traditional process design is dedicated to creating a wide variety of products. It may be a useful commodity, or it may be a beautiful work of art. With the continuous development and progress of science and technology over the years, some environmental problems have gradually emerged. To solve the following social issues, people began to use design thinking to solve problems. We are thinking to change the previous way of life through design to create a people-oriented design concept, rather than simply design products.
The future of design
There is no right way to design, and we don’t need to distinguish between good and wrong. From the perspective of education, handicraft design as a traditional field has been explored and explored by people. Many universities around the world have offered relevant courses and trained many outstanding talents. But the existence of design as a way of thinking has yet to be tested, as it is taught only in a handful of universities. Although it is not as developed as handicraft design, it is still the right way of design.
Different choices in different directions will lead to different results. With the continuous development of two design methods, no one can prove which direction is entirely reasonable and correct. We just need to choose the path we like to move forward. Each direction is the right one for everyone.
