Feedback and promotion

This week, I showed Jackie the layout status of my page and based on the feedback, I made some changes to the layout content of the site.

First of all, on the Home page, a summary of the module contents of the three semesters was originally displayed. This feature overlaps with the navigation bar, so the content summary module has been removed from the Home Page.

After modification, the most recent project is added directly below the personal experience module. Doing so will make it easy to scan the semester’s projects quickly.

Next, the original sidebar layout is cumbersome and unnecessary for both the Project page and the Blog page. The sidebar did not help tutors to read the content of our project. Instead, it interfered with the line of sight and caused a poor reading experience. Therefore, I removed the sidebar functionality and made the content wider

The third point is about the presentation of blog content. When I was writing my blog, I found that I would often quote some documents and pictures. In the original website, I did not give the source of these cited documents and illustrations. In the revised version, I used the Harvard format to annotate the citation sources and listed the reference list at the end of the article. Doing so can help us express our thoughts more rigorously and improve our academic writing ability

In general, in the construction of personal websites, content and readability are the most important. While satisfying these two aspects, improving the aesthetics of the page will help improve the reader’s reading experience to a certain extent.
